Primary duty is delivering aggregate materials and other associated products from Aggregate Quarries to Ready Mix Batch plants and construction sites in a safe and efficient manner, while maintaining a clean and safe tractor and trailer.
Safely load and promptly deliver material to job sites as dispatched while maintaining positive customer and public relations.
Professionally operate the vehicle and equipment and perform all tasks in a safe manner to include maintaining fuel and water at proper levels. This includes being able to maneuver the truck into and out of particularly tight places and/or over uneven terrain.
Perform related loading and unloading operations of various load ingredients to concrete plant silos such as cement and fly ash as directed by dispatchers and terminal operators in an efficient and safe manner.
Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of the truck and all associated elements.
Follow order and delivery instructions received from dispatchers and/or other supervisors and managers regarding material, delivery address and conditions and properly complete and return all required paperwork.
Prepare truck for delivery and deliver product to job sites following USDOT and IDOT. Maintain a driving record and log books in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier Regulations and company policy.
Treat job site personnel with a customer friendly attitude. Address concerns, customers and/or stressful situations in a diplomatic manner. Communicate customer needs back to dispatch in a respectful manner.
Perform pre-trip vehicle safety inspection and report findings to the dispatcher at beginning and end of each shift. Keep the inside of the cab clean and sanitary. Perform cleaning and routine maintenance of the truck.
Wear protective clothing and equipment as required and follow all company safety procedures.
Work professionally around caustic substances such as cement, lime, admixtures, dust, and fuels which can cause burns and irritants when not used carefully.
Complies with all Safety, Health, Environmental and other Company policies and procedures.
Perform other functions and duties as required or directed.
High School diploma or equivalent is required with a valid Class A or B CDL license
Must be knowledgeable of and follow all relevant US-DOT, environmental, and traffic laws
Must be able to pass or hold a current DOT medical exam card
Must have a minimum of 1 year of tractor trailer experience
Must have English language reading and writing abilities

Physical and Environmental Requirements
Candidate must be drug free. Position requires moderately strenuous physical work.
Regular walking, standing, climbing, reaching, seizing, holding, grasping, turning, pulling, pushing and lifting activities are required for this position.
Must be able to: occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs. of force. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. from floor level to waist level. Climb in and out of equipment 50+ times a day. Climb up and down ladders occasionally.
Sit/stand for extended periods of time.
Work outdoors under Panhandle/West Texas/Southeastern NM weather, with varying noise levels.
Work on rough, muddy and/or icy surfaces.
Work long and flexible hours as necessary.
Environment will vary from outdoors with varying noise levels and vibrations associated with construction equipment, and exposure to building materials, dust and dirt at operating sites to a normal office environment.
