Job Description

Summary

The Information Technology Coordinator supports technology and control end user systems and applications, installation of new systems and support. Helpdesk Coordinator will also be responsible for all documentation processes and manage onboarding for new hire from an IT perspective

Functional Responsibilities

  • Provide daily end user support. Assist employees with any IT issues; support all printers, scanners, email, Microsoft Office and company software and hardware applications.
  • Provide daily account management and assist with onboarding new users.
  • Responsible for new hardware and software deployment, software installation and removal of outdated programs, new computer imaging and deployment.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment including but not limited to: desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and cell phones.
  • Maintain an inventory of all other network-connected devices.
  • Confer with department managers and other employees to obtain information on limitations and capabilities of existing systems and capabilities required for IT projects and projected workload.
  • Confer with departments and employees regularly to identify computerization needs and determine how the desired results can be achieved. Analyze existing systems and programs and develop or recommend new systems or modifications to existing systems.
  • Evaluate factors, make recommendations to department managers and/or Network System Administrator relating to number of departments serviced, and control systems’ equipment, required reporting formats, volume of transactions, time requirements, security needs and access restrictions for determining hardware/software configurations.
  • Maintain hardware and software licensing and records and performs “gatekeeper” role for IT corporate policy adherence.
  • Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan layout for type of computers and peripheral equipment, or modifications to existing equipment and systems that will provide capability for proposed project or workload, efficient operations, and effective use of allotted space.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network in the company.
  • Recommend and direct software changes and updates to keep department systems up-to-date. Monitor any software changes.  Assist departments with regard to program changes and operations.
  • Record and maintain hardware inventories; including all IT related equipment (network equipment, cell phones, servers, laptops, desktops, etc.), and user access and security.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade or break/fix desktop, laptop, server hardware and peripherals to include network cards, printers, modems, mice and add-in boards.
  • Work as a team member with the IT team, such as networking to ensure connectivity and compatibility between corporate systems.
  • Provide on call support.
  • Maintain excellent line of communication with the Network Systems Administrator on all extended tasks and projects.
  • Maintain expertise and proficiency in the IT field and train users to use new or modified equipment, software, and systems.
  • Monitor and support local phone system, voice recording and voice mail.
  • Escalate issues to other members of IT in a timely fashion
  • Perform other duties as directed

Experience/Training/Certifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year accredited college or technical school in computer science preferred
  • 1 – 2 years of relevant work experience as an IT Coordinator or similar role
  • Experience in network management and help desk support is a plus
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and LAN/WAN configuration

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Candidate must be drug free.
  • Regular walking, standing, climbing, reaching, seizing, holding, grasping, turning, pulling, pushing and lifting activities are required for this position.
  • Must be able to:
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds from floor level to waist level
  • Sit/stand for extended periods of time
